How to reclaim

Get in touch with us

Talk to one of our specialist advisers at Writefully Yours, who will help to assess your claim. They’ll explain our service and fees to ensure that you’re completely clear on how the whole process will work.

If you decide to go ahead with a claim your Writefully Yours adviser will send you a form to sign to let us act on your behalf, along with our Terms of Business which you must then read. Once you’ve returned the form to us in the pre-paid envelope we'll take care of the rest.

We get in touch with your lender/bank

Once you’ve completed the necessary paperwork and we have all the information we need, Writefully Yours will then contact the lender/bank on your behalf.

With your signed authorisation, Writefully Yours will inform the lender/bank of your complaint and start trying to get your full money back including interest. Throughout this stage, we’ll deal with any queries for you so that you don’t have to worry about chasing things or taking any action. We’ll keep you up to date so you’ll know what’s happening with your claim.

We manage your claim

After receiving your complaint, the lender/bank has 8 weeks to get back to us.

If they accept that the financial product was mis-sold to you, Writefully Yours will make sure that the offer you get is fair. If you think the offer is unacceptable we’ll negotiate with them on your behalf.

If the lender/bank fails to respond or if it rejects your claim on the grounds that the financial product was not mis-sold, Writefully Yours will still pursue it if we believe the decision to be incorrect. We’ll liaise with you and may escalate the claim to the Financial Ombudsman Service.

You receive payment

When your payment is received, we can then discuss what happens next.

Your Writefully Yours adviser will come to an agreement with you as to what to do when you get your money. If the payment is sent to us by your lender/bank, we’ll deduct our agreed fees and then send the balance to you. Or if your lender/bank sends the payment direct to you we ask that you make sure you pay our fees once your funds have cleared.

However, if you’re on a debt management plan and you owe money to the lender/bank which you made a claim against, it’s likely that it’ll keep the money and use it to reduce the amount you owe. You may not receive any cash, and our fees would still be payable.
